Effective November 6, 2024:
IRCC officers can issue single-entry or limited-duration multiple-entry visas based on circumstances.
Caps to limit temporary residents to 5% of Canada's population by 2026.
Single-entry for one-time events, multiple-entry for frequent visitors.
Clearly state your reason for visiting, supported by documentation.
Demonstrate sufficient funds to cover your trip.
Show strong ties that signal your intent to return home after your visit.
A positive travel history increases the likelihood of approval.

Enables multiple entries within the visa's validity period
For travelers passing through Canada for less than 48 hours
The Parent and Grandparent Super Visa allows extended stays in Canada for family members.
Up to five years, extendable to seven years
10-year validity period
Parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens or permanent residents
Must be a child or grandchild, Canadian citizen or permanent resident, and meet income requirements.
Host's income must meet or exceed specified amounts based on family size.
Must apply from outside Canada, take a medical exam, and meet other conditions.
Must provide proof of valid Canadian health insurance for at least 1 year.
